The Heck with Our Precious Bodily Fluids: Let's Talk Nap Time
Oh, to feel bored. I remember that longing for something to do, for something to fill my life from my teens and twenties. I remember it, but only in the way one remembers an experience from childhood that isn't present in adulthood (climbing trees, running crying to FoilMormor with a skinned knee). Last night was my first night (in close to four weeks) where I neither had the kids, nor was working on my freelance project (done, done, done, but follow-up heading my way like a runaway train and me tied to the tracks), and I barely got started reading an embarrassingly lightweight book (no Atwood or Barnes or Calvino for me last night, that's for darn sure) before I realized that bed was calling me.
Good thing I answered the call, as I feel more rested than I have in quite a while. In the meantime, I joined a single parents discussion group that immediately disbanded (was it something I said?), and upon the notice of disbanding, I felt only relief. I don't have the time. This weekend: karate, library visits, visits (I profoundly hope) with Innana, TGs science class at Sunday school (yeah, you read that right). Given that I'm feeling slightly flush, and have actual good red wine in the house, pizza will probably be ordered on Saturday.
Off to work with me. And tonight, after giving platelets, it will be immeidately to bed with me again. No mucking around. Sleep is precious.
Last, since I wasn't working or taking care of kids last night, I had a chance to do my once-weekly (I've missed a few weeks due to the godawful schedule) DC Blogs Noted post of others' blog posts that I liked in the DC area. Take a look if you're so inclined.

You're waaaaay busier than I like to keep myself! I'm inherently lazy, or, as I prefer to think of it, I'm finely attuned to a life of leisure. So I don't do busy very well unless I'm tempted with a very big carrot (or stick).
Three cheers for a luxurious night's sleep! :-)
Oh, I've been way busier than I like to keep myself.
Also, Bil, I get the impression you're familiar with the Cincinnati airport. If that's correct could you email me at foilwoman(at)gmaildotcom? I'm travelling throught the Kentucky/Cincinnati airport this summer (with DestructoGirl, which causes some concern) on pretty tight turnaroudns. Could you email me and advise about how to manage the switch from one plane to another with a 50 minute turnaround? Thanks.
