Mr Quick did display some stunning incompetence i must say!
He actually walked before he was pushed.Taking 'early retirement', with large pension still intact!
So not as funny as it sounds! A bumbling old buffoon of a copper gets 'rewarded' for his failure. He's no doubt got a comfotable bank account, which combined with his pension means he is comfortably retired a year or two before he expected to put his feet up.

CookieDear: Absolutely. This is something I see often here in DC, but to have a Brit, who presumably knows the meaning of the word discretion, exemplify the lack thereof is kind of enjoyable. Really, if it's visible in public, you're not keeping a secret.
Bunny: Be nice to my Cookie. And it's never fun to lose one's job before one expects to retire, but this man (Quick) definitely earned his early retirement.
Be nice to him? I'm nice to him when he's nice to me! ;-)
And YOU should nag him to be nice to his sister! ;-)
