Common Courtesy
I haven't responded to ex-SiQ's email regarding our (totally fictional except in his own mind) arrangement (see prior post for explanation, such as one exists). Do I owe this man any further response? My inclination is to avoid all further contact -- I'm certainly not going to meet him again, and my possibly self-serving thoughts on this subject are that he wouldn't hear anything I said anyway. Just avoiding discomfort rationalization or realistic view of the situation? Let me know what you think.

This would be my inclination too. Waiting to hear from him before giving him a polite good-bye.
Innana
I second Innana. You don't owe this man any further response.
I would be tempted to simply inform him, via email, that your gut feeling is that it ain't workin' for ya. You appreciate his investment of time and energy, but any relationship just isn't gonna happen. You're experienced enough to know what you want, so that's that.
Just my opinion, but you did ask for it. . . good luck!
Oh, I got another annoying email. He's getting official notification that he is over.
want me to go sort him out for you?
(cracks knuckles threateningly)
yeah definitely give me the polite goodbye
